The Manitoba Junior Curling Tour’s Quality Inn Classic is on this weekend in Winkler.

"It's our home opener,” said Winkler Curling Club junior coordinator Rhonda Kezema. “We have the ice ready and we're very excited to have 24 teams from across southern Manitoba and even into North Dakota and Saskatchewan. We're very excited to have everybody kick off our season here in Winkler."

This is year three of the Quality Inn Classic and it's the second last event of the season on the MJCT before the Tour Championship.

"We like to keep it the same weekend,” said Kezema. “That's kind of what is attracting our curlers. They know that the can come out to Winkler this last weekend of October. A lot of people enjoy coming to Winkler because of our community and great volunteers at the club and great food."

"It's so amazing to help support these young curlers,” added Kezema. “They all have a dream and desire to do better. They want that Buffalo on their back so they want to pursue curling in a competitive way. This junior curling tour allows them to compete against the top junior curlers and be able to have that competition that they need."
