Many from the Pembina Valley rang in the New Year in style Thursday night, attending the first Annual New Year's Eve Gala at Morden's Access Event Centre. Photo booths, entertainment, and dancing were just part of the exciting evening.
"We had a fabulous and elegant night that included dinner, entertainment and dancing, while celebrating the New Year with purpose," said Event Organizer Sharon Webb.
This was the first annual Gala, and it raised $6,300 for Katie Cares' Respite Home Project.
Not only did Katie Cares receive the money raised from the event, but was also presented with a $5,000 cheque from Dynacare, and a $2,500 cheque from the Christian Labour Association Of Canada (CLAC). A grand total of $13,800 was raised for the project.
"What a fantastic evening," outlined Katie Cares Ruth Reimer. "We can't say enough about the community support and what it means for 2015. We have come so far. All of the money that is raised tonight (January 31st) and any other money that is raised goes strictly to Katie Care's and the construction of Katie's Cottage."
