Children in Carman are one step closer to having a splash this summer thanks to Access Credit Union (ACU).

The construction of a new $350,000 splash pad was approved by the Town of Carman and RM of Dufferin.

With $15,000 from ACU, the funds needed to reach the goal for the Carman splash pad are nearer.

Community Coordinator for ACU Nolan Dueck, explains giving a hand to communities is a part of the company.

"The core values of ACU, the biggest one for us is the community. We want to make sure our communities are getting the support they need because as they grow we do as well."

Dueck says as they see their communities grow, giving back is something ACU believes strongly in.

Carman’s splash park was chosen by ACU’s Community Investment Committee because they had supported splash pads in the past as they are a great way to help bring a community together.

Other ways organizations or places are chosen are through requests from people in the community.

It doesn’t even have to be a community where an ACU branch is located, says Dueck. He explains if it’s something their members would benefit from that is something ACU would want to consider.
