Non-profits around the Pembina Valley received an influx of over $53,000 thanks to ACU's Jeans for Charity program.

Local staff donates every Friday to wear jeans, the proceeds of which are matched and recently given back to 25 local charities.

"The Jeans for Charity Program continues to be very successful within our organization," Larry Davey, President and CEO of Access Credit Union says, adding they chose to present the donations on International Credit Union Day because concern for community is one of the seven cooperative principles that credit unions follow.

Some of the organizations that received funding include the childhood cancer support group Candlelighters, the Plum Coulee and Lowe Farm fire departments, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Genesis House and Katie Cares.

"We are passionate about giving back to our communities and are very proud to be a part of a system that promotes those values," he says.
