A large crowd was present for the first annual Brad Wall Memorial race at the ALH Motor Speedway just west of Morden. The race was held in memory of Brad, who passed away in March as a result of a motor vehicle accident.

"It was very overwhelming," said Brad's mother Kim Wall. "To see how much support we had by the community and by family and friends. Overall it was a wonderful day and a great tribute to my son Brad."

Kim stated she and her family felt love from all of the people in attendance and was able to learn a lot about her departed son Brad through the many stories shared with her throughout the day. She added Brad truly was the type of guy who would give you the shirt off of his own back.

"Brad was awesome. He was the greatest guy. I have a child with a disability and he was always there for her, talked with her, and he was her buddy," said family friend Michelle Goertzen.Meanwhile, Brad's brother Cody was able to honour his brother by racing his car Sunday, which Kim stated Cody was very honoured to drive his brothers car.

"I would just tell him that you're number one and that he's always been number one," concluded Goertzen. "It's sad not to see him here today at the races, but everybody is here for him today. We are here for him and his family today and it's just awesome."

Money raised during the race is going to be donated to Stars Air Ambulance on behalf of Brad and Kim noted totals are still being calculated at this time.
