Around 1:45 pm today the Altona Fire Department responded to call regarding a tree being on fire.

The fire was the result of a burn pit fire spreading further, and took place at a farm property two miles east of Altona.

Altona Fire Chief Greg Zimmerman reminds residents never to hesitate to call if a fire spreads beyond your control.
