W.C. Miller Collegiate's Youth In Philanthropy group is looking for projects to support. The Altona high school program is encouraging organizations and groups to send in their applications for grant funding of their projects.

"We want to start giving away and granting money to people who would like to help youth in the community and have projects that would help kids under 18," said YIP member Thomas Wolfe. "We do have several thousand dollars to give away."

Funding application for the YIP program can be accessed through a link on the W.C. Miller website, according to Wolfe.

"You can click on it and there is a form that you can fill out, or if people want a paper copy they can come to the office at Miller."

YIP works closely with the Altona Community Foundation and student council president Thomas Wolfe says it's been a great learning experience for all the students involved.

"We get to see what kind of impact we can have. It also gives you a sense of how this process works."

The deadline for submitting an application is the end of April.
