Altona Police Sergeant, Mike Turnbull, has been recognized for three decades of service and on Tuesday, was presented with his 30 year bar for his Police Exemplary Service Medal by Mayor Melvin Klassen.

Sgt. Turnbull began his policing career in 1984 in the R.M. of Cornwallis where he served until 1988 when he began policing in the town of Rivers, MB. In 2006, Sgt. Turnbull joined the Altona Police Service.

"Altona has been my favourite place to live and work, it's been great," he noted after the presentation.

The Police Exemplary Service Medal is given to Canadian municipal police officers when they have completed 20 years of Exemplary Service to Canadian Policing; the bar is awarded each subsequent 10 years thereafter by the Office of the Secretary to the Governor General.
