**Update Friday at 1:00 PM**

RCMP say icy road conditions were a factor in the collision yesterday at the intersection of Provincial Road 306 and Road 12N.

A passenger van slide through the intersection and was struck by a fuel truck.

Three occupants in the van and the driver of the fuel truck suffered non-life threatening injuries but were taken to local hospital.

It's currently unknown which direction either vehicle was travelling and if seatbelts were in use.

Alcohol is not a factor.

Pembina Valley Online has received additional details regarding the Thursday afternoon incident.

Around 3:09 PM emergency crews were called to Provincial Road 306 about 5 kilometres south of Plum Coulee upon reports of a collision between a fuel truck and a mini van.

STARS Air Ambulance also responded to the scene.

Officials say the collision caused the mini van to crash through a highway guard rail and come to rest partially submerged in the deep ditch below.

One passenger of the mini van was air lifted to Children’s Hospital in Winnipeg via STARS and a spokesman says no critical care of the patient was required during transport.

Plum Coulee Fire Chief, Tony Fehr, noted the remaining two passengers of the mini van and the lone driver of the fuel truck didn’t appear to sustain any serious injuries, however they were transported to hospital for observation.

An environmental team was called to help clean up the scene.
