A local resident is out $1,400 after falling victim to the Canada Revenue Agency scam.

Morden Police report a victim received a call last week from someone claiming to be from the Canada Revenue Agency. The scammer requested the victim purchase $1,400 worth of iTunes cards as payment from the local Shoppers Drug Mart.

The victim complied, purchasing the iTunes cards and providing the caller with the Personal Identification Numbers for the cards. Police contacted Apple Support but the cards had already been activated and used.

Police urge the public to report any calls for similar requests.
