Public works crews in Carman were able to make some repairs to the town's century old water tower last week.
A pipe leading up to the tank became disconnected due to the natural settlement of the ground. It took about 8 hours to complete the repair.
Joe Richardson, public works superintendent, says this is the second fix they have made on the tower in the past six months.

"I think the ground has moved a little bit ... and the line that goes up to the tower just seperated. So we had to go up underneath the tower itself, cut it, let the pipe drop back together and put a piece in and install a slip coupler so if it ever does move again, at least its got a little bit of give."

Richardson says the repair work went well and the water tower was back in service within the day.
