The Office of the Fire Commissioner has released the cause of the fire at Providence University/College last Thursday. The blaze destroyed the men's dormitory known as Bergen Hall. The Fire Commissioner has listed the cause as accidental and did not provide further details except that the loss is estimated at $4 million.

The cabinet at Providence has already announced it plans to build a state-of-the-art new men's residence that will be environmentally friendly. The school also says it has developed a plan to accommodate all people coming to the campus for various summer programs as well as for the coming school year.
