The Junior Curling program out of the Altona Curling Club has some new gear thanks to the Curtis Klassen Memorial Fund and the Youth in Philanthropy group at W.C. Miller Collegiate.

Instructor, Keith Stoesz, said the club was able to purchase 32 of each brooms, sliders and grippers for the Junior Curling Program thanks to grants from each organization. The program helps teach the sport to kids in grades one to four.

He added that the $1,425 cheque from the Curtis Klassen Memorial Fund, combined with the $1,000 in funding from the YiP group covered the entire cost of the purchase.
