Public health officials advise no new deaths in people with COVID-19 have been reported today.

The current five-day COVID-19 test positivity rate is 6.2 per cent provincially and 5.8 per cent in Winnipeg. As of 9:30 a.m. today, 61 new cases of the virus have been identified. The total number of lab-confirmed cases in Manitoba to 56,036.

Today’s COVID-19 data shows:
- 20 cases in the Interlake–Eastern health region;
- eight cases in the Northern health region;
- two cases in the Prairie Mountain Health region;
- four cases in the Southern Health–Santé Sud health region; and
- 27 cases in the Winnipeg health region.

The data also shows:
- 1,454 active cases and 53,443 individuals who have recovered from COVID-19;
 - 194 Manitobans hospitalized with COVID-19 in Manitoba and neighbouring provinces including:
 - 95 people in hospital in Manitoba with active COVID-19 as well as 88 people in hospital with COVID-19 who are no longer infectious, amounting to a total of 183 hospitalizations;
- a total of 61 Manitoba patients receiving intensive care for COVID-19 including:
 - 26 people in intensive care units in Manitoba with active COVID-19 as well as 24 people with COVID-19 who are no longer infectious but continue to require critical care, amounting to a total of 50 ICU patients in Manitoba; and
 - 11 Manitoba patients in intensive care units outside the province, all of whom are in Ontario;
- 36 patients previously receiving care in an out-of-province ICU have now been returned to Manitoba hospitals for further care; and
 - no COVID-19 patients were transported out of province for care yesterday;
- 1,468 laboratory tests were completed yesterday, bringing the total number of lab tests completed since early February 2020 to 828,130; and
- the total number of deaths in people with COVID-19 is 1,139.

VACCINES

All super sites are now booking Pfizer appointments for the end of July.

All people aged 12 and up are now eligible to make their first or second dose appointment. The date of the second appointment must be at least 28 days after the first vaccination. The COVID-19 Vaccination super site at the Morden Access Event Centre has large capacity for walk-ins today, June 28. It is open until 8 p.m. tonight. There, Manitobans can receive Morderna first or second doses. According to Southern Health, priority will be given to people getting their first dose. If receiving a second dose, 28 days between doses is required. Please present with completed consent form, Manitoba Health card (or other identification), wear a loose-fitting or short sleeved shirt and come prepared for the weather conditions in the event of line-ups.

As well, there will also be limited capacity for Moderna walk-ins at the Miami Community Hall on June 29, 2021, from 10:30 am – 6 pm.

Parents, caregivers or other adults who have a booked Pfizer appointment can continue to transfer their appointment to a 12 to 17-year-old youth, through the provincial call centre.

Fifteen medical clinics and pharmacies are regional hubs for AstraZeneca vaccinations. Individuals can use the online vaccine finder at https://manitoba.ca/covid19/vaccine/finder.html to find a location with available doses.

A complete listing and searchable map of all vaccine sites, including urban Indigenous clinics and pop-up clinics, is available online at https://protectmb.ca. Eligible individuals can book their appointments at these sites online, or by calling (toll-free) 1-844-626-8222 (1-844-MAN-VACC).

A total of 1,329,689 doses of vaccine have been administered in Manitoba.

Manitoba is expecting a delivery of 87,750 doses of Pfizer vaccine and 36,400 doses of Moderna next week.

To be considered fully immunized, individuals require two doses of vaccine. These can be the same or different brands of vaccine. Individuals who are fully vaccinated can now request a digital or physical immunization card. People who received a COVID-19 vaccine outside of Manitoba should complete the e-form at https://forms.gov.mb.ca/covid-immunization-record-request/ to update their immunization information. This e-form can also be used to request other updates or corrections to a COVID-19 immunization. Individuals may also contact their local public health office for assistance, if needed.
