Joni Filz dropped into Donate Love, a thrift store and food cupboard in Morden, to pick up groceries while her husband was out of work.

Now, that circumstances are more stable in their home, she wanted to give back to the organization that supported her family. So she organized a craft sale and raffle on behalf of Donate Love

"I like to help people, and this is a great way to do it," said Filz.

Funds were raised through raffling off 32 gift baskets of prizes donated from some of the vendors at the craft sale and local businesses.

Filz and her family picked up milk and other groceries from Donate Love while they were living in Morden. At that time, she saw how many people rely on the charity.

"To me, it's a personal thing," she said.

"They were able to help us with the little things, and that was very helpful."

Organizing the craft sale and raffle fundraiser was Filz's way to give back and "be a blessing", as she said, to the charity that was there for her family.

Around 50 tables were set up with local vendors selling beauty products, clothing, food, organizational containers, etc.
