Eden Health Care Services continues to search for a Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

Former CEO James Friesen gave the board advance notice of his retirement and the search began last fall.

Interim CEO Ryan HildebrandAfter narrowing the search to one candidate, the individual eventually felt the role wasn't the right fit.

In the meantime, Eden CFO Ryan Hildebrand has stepped into an Interim CEO position.

Hildebrand notes as it's a unique role to fill, as Eden deals with a number of government agencies and churches.

"We're looking for a leader who can lead this faith-based organization into the future," he says. "It's very important that the person can relate to a number of organizations and churches as well."

James Friesen leaves big shoes to fill as a leader who spent many years working through the ranks of Eden. Friesen started as a worker at a group home, transitioning into the director of the home before spending a number of years as the Eden Foundation Director.

"He certainly brought a unique perspective," Hildebrand says.
