Adults over the age of 55 are tapping into a new and free educational and recreational programs from the comfort of their own homes.

"Senior Centre Without Walls" is funded by Age Friendly Manitoba, offering a unique opportunity for Manitoban's that may be socially isolated to join educational and recreational programs via teleconference format. Programming topics include; educational presentations, health and wellness, language classes, book clubs, travelogues and support groups. The free programs are accessed through a toll-free number and are offered during the day and evenings," said Director of Senior Service for the Municipality of Emerson-Franklin Lorri French.

French went on to say that they have held a few group calls in seniors manors in the region along with tea parties and treats, French added that the response was great and people are starting to understand how it works.
