Red River Valley School Division enrolled 57 new students this fall, raising the total to 2,320 across 14 schools.

"There's growth in about three areas of our school division. The rest of the other schools are kind of status quo: a little bit up, a little bit down, but no real common trend. But three of our schools for the last five years have increased pretty much every year, and that's in St. Pierre (-Jolys), St. Malo and Morris areas," said superintendent and CEO Brad Curtis.

As a result, the division has hired more staff to accommodate the rise in student population. Curtis said this includes seven full-time equivalent teachers and eight educational assistants.
