Ten students were able to complete their graduation outfits thanks to the help of the Western School Division's Evening of Elegance.

"It's an evening for young people that are graduating, to lighten their load of the expense of graduation," said organizer Betty Peters.

The event was held February 13 at the Alliance Church in Morden. It provides students with the full experience of shopping for their graduation outfit.

Students could pick out one or two items or pick out a complete outfit.

"Graduation in itself is stressful," fellow organizer Rosemary Zahn said."You have to think of a lot of details and there are a lot of fees."

Peters and Zahn are both Home and School Liasons with WSD and part of their job is to help families to succeed.

The event always sees great support from the community with donations of dresses, suits, shoes, jewlery, and even money to help purchase other items for the evening. Zahn added the business community has been a tremendous supporter of the event year after year.

This is the ninth year the event has been held and the organizers would like to see Evening of Elegance continue to serve graduating students for many years to come. She added donations are always welcome and can be dropped them off at the Alliance Church after the Christmas holidays.
