The flags located at the Altona Civic Centre and Altona Canada Post Office are flying at half mast today to mark the tragic events that took place earlier this week in Quebec City. 

The shooting, which took place Sunday night at Centre Culturel Islamique de Québec, sent shock waves through Canadians and the province of Manitoba.

Police first believed two people were involved in Sunday's terror attack however, one of the men arrested near the mosque was a witness who reportedly fled the scene in the midst of the police operation.

The suspect in the fatal event is Alexandre Bissonnette, a Université Laval student.

The victims of the mass shooting were fathers, businessmen, a university professor and others who had gathered for evening prayers, at total of six people were killed and nineteen were injured during the attack.
