Over $24,000 worth of renovation upgrades have gone into the Franklin Craft Club in Dominion City over the last two years. The funds were raised through seniors recreation grants, with some support from the Municipality and from a local group called Grey Power.

The club is a well used facility by members of the Municipality serving as a coffee shop, meeting place, craft space, and so much more. President Randy Krampble says upgrades to the facility started two years ago with the exterior of the building.

"It's a huge difference nowthat we've put in wheel chair accessibility new lower cost LED lighting. We have also added proper signage and upgraded the exhaust system."

The new exhaust system was needed to deal with fumes generated by paint and varnish products used in the Club.

"There is a paint room in the building for varnishing and stripping because that's how the craft club stays open, by restoring wooden furniture."

Kramble went on to say that the new LED lighting in the building has made a substantial change for those using the facility, noting it's like night and day. He expects the next project that the Club intends to tackle is will be the flooring.
