"Great minds working together."

For Central Station Executive Director Bev Wiebe that sums up collaboration between the community centre and the Winkler Food Cupboard.

"It's been amazing because we all have a heart for people... it's been inspiring to work together," Wiebe says.

The food cupboard recently joined Central Station at their 545 Industrial Dr. location in Winkler.

In the past, people picked up their food voucher at Central Station before heading to the food cupboard's former location on Cargill Road.

"We help people who are in need to put food on the table, that's basically our mission... to do the Lord's work," food cupboard Board Member Menno Giesbrecht says.

The food cupboard is sponsored by numerous churches, community organizations, and individual donors.

The organization moved into the building earlier this spring from their Cargill Road location, which Giesbrecht notes wasn't wheelchair friendly either.

"We're much more comfortable in our new space," he says. "We can serve the public better."

Central Station also partners with Donate Love to host a free community meal, Cafe 545, every Monday. This month marks the meal's third anniversary.

The meal sees up to 200 people each week.
