Environment Canada says there's a good chance of severe thunderstorms later Tuesday. Warning Preparedness Meteorologist Terri Lang outlines what is developing.

"We do have a big low-pressure system that's getting itself wound up in the United States. And what that's doing is spreading into some showers and thundershowers into southern Manitoba. There's quite a bit of energy associated with this particular system so we're expecting some of these showers and thundershowers to be quite heavy and there is a risk of a severe thunderstorm later on in the day in southern Manitoba. So people should be paying attention to the weather, to watches and warnings and be prepared for anything that might come along."

Lang says forecasters are busy analyzing the data and adds weather watches and warnings are possible Tuesday afternoon and evening. We will keep you posted.
