The RM of Stanley will be holding a public hearing for a proposed gravel pit expansion at its next council meeting, October 19.

A hearing was to be held previously but was postponed as not everyone received the required notification. RM of Stanley Reeve Morris Olafson noted all notifications were sent out, but one was missed due to an address change.

"We take everybody's thoughts into consideration," said Olafson.

Olafson noted Mines and Natural Resources has guidelines in place in order to operate a gravel pit. One of which outlined the required restoration of the land once the gravel is gone.

"The pit in question right now, once the gravel is out they're already re-claiming, leveling out the dirt and re-seeding," said Olafson.
