Winkler's Harvest Festival is a weekend where many from the City, surrounding area, and former residents converge in Winkler to re-connect and have a good time.

"We are announcing the entertainment this week and we are really excited. I think we have a great lineup for all three days," said festival director Deb Penner.

The Friday night headliner will be Aerosmith Rocks tribute band which strives to capture the essence of what is Aerosmith. Brash, and bold musical excitement.

"I've said it before that if you think you don't know Aerosmith songs. Once you hear them kick into some of them. Everyone should know them because they are so iconic. It'll be one of those nights where if you're just walking past the stage you'll go 'okay yeah, I know that one' and just get into it," said Penner.

On Saturday the country music enthusiasts will be able to enjoy the songs from a Traralgon, Australia-born, and now from Lacombe Alberta Gord Bamford.

"Definitely an up and comer. One of those really good guys too. He's really philanthropic. He's got his own charity going and always giving back. I think he's on the verge of superstardom at this point. It's going to be really great that we can have him here and also support his career," explained Penner.

Penner said the festival will end wit Hawk Nelson on Sunday, which is a Christian rock band from Ontario.

"I've heard nothing but good things about this group," said Penner. "This is another example of a group that is just on the verge of hitting it big. We've done that at the festival a few times over the years. For King and Country, just after we signed the contract with them a couple of years ago they won two or three Grammy's."

Penner said the festival has been lucky to get great musical artists on stage right before they make it big. She adds this allows for people at the festival to enjoy great music for free, right in the City of Winkler.

The festival will be held August 11th-13th.
