Over $2,400 was raised Thursday for the Pembina Valley Humane Society (PVHS) with the help of the community and Ford Hometown Service. For every person who took a test drive, Ford Hometown Service donated $20 to the local humane society.

Megan Rogers of PVHS explains the money will be used for their kennel repair project. The new kennels will have a seamless finish which will be more sanitary and easier to clean.

The total cost of the project is $34,000. Including the most recent donations, PVHS has raised approximately $27,000 through grants and donations.

During the renovations a number of foster families have taken in animals to help in the interim.

However, Rogers says animal adoption continues.

"If someone wants to meet a dog, we'll certainly set up a meet and greet," she says, adding they've had several animals adopted over the summer.

Rogers thanked everyone who supported their work this week, "We couldn't do it without you."
