Letellier's Josh Penner has been making a name for himself lately in the freestyle snowmobile scene, performing at two Winter X-Games in recent years. Now the former pro moto-cross racer is getting back on the dirt bike and performing for a hometown crowd at Nitro Circus, an extreme sport event that has riders pulling off amazing tricks and stunts on a variety of motorized vehicles, in Winnipeg Friday night. Penner says he jumped at the opportunity after hearing about it on the radio.

Growing up watching Nitro Circus on TV, Penner says being able to perform in the event as an adult is a dream come true.

"They do the most extreme and gnarly stuff, they're pushing the sport to a new level especially with Nitro World Games and all the new stuff they're coming out with, it's wild."

As for preparing for the event, Penner admits he's a bit mentally stressed, noting it's been busy on the family farm plus the windy weather hasn't been ideal for practicing jumps.

"Every time I ride I just try and practice on some intense tricks that I plan to throw-down there, as long as I get those down."
