Residents of Letellier now have a great opportunity to stay in shape.

The Letellier Fitness Club officially opened the doors to its new location inside the local community hall.

Association Spokesperson Chad Buhlin says it was exciting to finally get the facility up and running.

"It's been a couple of years in the making to get the equipment that we wanted and the funding that we needed to purchase the equipment, because none of this stuff is cheap," said Buhlin. "We utilized grant money and fundraised to get the equipment that makes this a facility that people are going to want to come to."

The new centre features some of the latest fitness equipment such as treadmills, a rowing machine and other strength training machines designed to appeal to a broad spectrum of people. Buhlin expects the equipment and new location will help increase membership significantly.

"Our old facility did not attract a lot of members because it was a very tiny place. It was small and old and smelled really bad. This facility brand new, well lit and there is a lot of excellent equipment to choose from and we're hoping to draw a lot of people in here."

Buhlin is pleased to see the project finally come to fruition after years of planning and hard work and expects it will serve the community for many years to come.
