The joys of the game of golf; you can triple bogey one hole and then record an ace on the next. That's exactly what happened for Winkler's Emmett Hildebrand July 27 at the Winkler Centennial Golf Course.

"At the tee box I couldn't really tell if it went in or not. Where the pin was located there was a couple of ridges on the green. So it could look like it went in or it can roll over the ridge and close to the hole," said Hildebrand.

While he didn't hit the ball like he wanted to, Hildebrand said the line was good and a favourable bounce helped along the way on the 15th hole.

"Luckily the guys I was with were pretty confident that it went in."

He explained he did his best to stay composed at the tee, until he was one 100% sure it was a 'Hole In One'.

"It was a shot of a life time," said Hildebrand. "I never go up to a tee expecting to get a hole in one, but when it happens it's something you'll remember for sure."

After confirming it was in fact an 'ace', Hildebrand and his foursome started to celebrate.

His father Arlen Hildebrand was able to record the same feat roughly twenty years ago, but on hole three at the Winkler golf course.

Hildebrand noted he really started golfing a few years ago and tries to play three to four times a week.

Winkler Golf Course head pro Greg Hesom explained there have been three hole in ones at their course this year.
