In total, 32 Museums across the province are vying to be crowned the Must-see-ums Madness champion.

A number of local organizations in the running including the Pembina Threshermen's Museum and Morden's Canadian Fossil Discovery Centre (CFDC), Treherne Glass Bottle Buildings, Miami Railway Station, and Le Musee Des Pionniers Et Des Chanoinesses in Notre Dame.

"This is amazing. The Museum has never been involved in anything like this, that I know of," said PTM Manager Kim Streimer. "It's such a boost. Even if we don't get into more rounds and get the winning prize it just helps us in all different ways."

Voting for round one will wrap up this evening (Wednesday).

The first round has a number of different categories including Pioneer Museums, Cool and Quirky, Military Museums, House of History, Industry and Manufacturing, Planes, Trains, and Automobiles, Cultural Museums, and Nature Natural History.

Executive Director of the CFDC Peter Cantelon said this competition is a win for tourism in the Province.

"It's attracting more people and promoting Manitoba Tourism as a whole," said Cantelon.

The winning Museum will receive a promotional video worth $5,000.
