The Winnipeg Goldeyes made it a decade long relationship with Lowe Farm Minor Baseball on Saturday, June 3rd. Goldeyes' pitcher Edwin Carl and infielder Casio Grider showed up and signed autographs for 9U baseball players in the Lowe Farm Grandslam Tournament.

Tournament organizer, Dulaney Blatz, has been getting Goldeyes' players to come to the tournament since 2007. The relationship between the two companies extend beyond a yearly visit as Blatz said he's even managed to get 2012 Championship pitcher Matt Rush to put on a clinic for young Lowe Farm baseball players.

Nigel Batchelor, Winnipeg Goldeyes' media assistant, talked about the afilliation between Lowe Farm and the Goldeyes.

"I know the Winnipeg Goldeyes do a lot of stuff outside of the community and it's really cool when they can come out here," said Batchelor. "Obviously they have a good relationship with Dulaney (Blatz) and Lowe Farm. I know the guys love it, they love seeing the kids and doing camps and stuff like that."

Twenty teams were signed up for the tournament and Blatz said that it would never be possible without volunteers. He said a lot of his help comes from within minor baseball with kids from 11U, 13U and 15U all contributing.
