Manitoba Hydro crews are busy tending to downed power lines as a result of the severe wind gusts across the province today.

Spokesman Bruce Owen says most of the affected customers are in the Parkland region, however there are a few reported outages in the Southwest. A handful of spots in the Central region are also reporting outages.

Owen says most of the outages are due to fallen trees on power lines. People are urged to report any outages to Manitoba Hydro immediately.

Owen adds, if you see a downed tree on a power line, those reports can also be made to Manitoba Hydro or by calling 9-1-1.

He says crews are working as quickly as possible to restore power in affect areas.
