The town of Miami welcomed many people to the community for its annual Mud Bog.

"I think it's just the atmostphere. We try to make it a family fun event," said president of the Miami Motor Sports Organization Joel Frost when asked why the event continues to be a success. "There's something there for everyone. We've got the food booth, and the Miami Ag Society does a great job with that. We've also got popsicles and freezies to go along with the face painting and things like that."

Frost explained it's their goal to make the mud bog pit different every year to make it more challenging for the drivers.

"We like to keep it a [surprise]. No one knows what it's going to look like until that day," added Frost. "We've had trucks really have to work hard to get through and other times when you get to the 1,000 horse power, open class, we've had a truck do the pit in 2.9 seconds. It's a pretty good show stopper when you see a truck go through in under three seconds."

Events like this wouldn't be possible without the support of the community and its people. Frost stated this event is a success because of all the support they receive from the surrounding area.

Meanwhile, money raised during this event is donated right back into the community and Frost noted they've already given some of the money raised back to the Miami Fire Department this year.
