The following is the Morden Police Service Report for the period of June 19th to 26th, 2017, as submitted by the department.

June 19th, 2017

With the recent rash of bicycle thefts, police are asking for the public's assistance in identifying a suspect.

Around 11:00 pm this date, a suspect entered the McDonald's restaurant in Morden to use the washroom. The suspect exits the restaurant using the front patio where he takes a bike belonging to an employee.

The bike is described as a BMX Dirt Jumper, yellow in color with front shocks. Anyone with information regarding this incident or knows the identify of this individual is asked to call the Morden Police Service at 822-4900, Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477, submit a secure tip online at www.manitobacrimestoppers.com or text “TIPMAN” plus your message to CRIMES (274637).

June 22nd, 2017

Police received a report of damage to a camper trailer parked beside a residence on Dubai Bay in Morden, which occurred sometime over the past four days.

It appears suspects tried prying the locking mechanism on the door of the trailer, but did not gain entry. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call the Morden Police Service.

June 22nd, 2017

Police received a report of a hit and run to a vehicle that was parked across the street from 123 Conner Hill Drive in Morden. The incident occurred on May 19th sometime between midnight and 8:00 am.

The driver parked his vehicle, a 2007 white Ford F150 work truck (Frostbite Mechanical Ltd.) on the street overnight and returned in the morning to find damage to the rear driver's side fender. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call the Morden Police Service.

June 25th, 2017

A vehicle was stopped on Route 100 in Morden for a faulty tail light. While speaking with the driver, an odor of marihuana was noted coming from within the vehicle. The driver admitted to having a quantity of marihuana and claimed that he had a medical prescription. Police are continuing their investigation.

During this period, members of the Morden Police Service issued 8 Provincial Offence Notices to motorists. Out of these Offence Notices, 3 were issued for Drivers using their cell phones or other hand operated electronic devices while driving a vehicle, 3 for driving an unregistered vehicle and 2 for driving without driver liability insurance.
