A new picnic shelter has been constructed in the Morden Park. This shelter was made possible through the partnership of the City and Morden Elks Club.

"It's all about the kids. It's not a splash park shelter, but it's by there so they can use it," said Elks Exalted Ruler Charlie Hildebrand.

The Elks contributed $10,000 toward the roughly $24,000 project. Hildebrand said the money was raised from the Club's annual raffle.

"I think it's always good to add new amenities to the park," said City of Morden Director of Community Services Clare Agnew.

Agnew said the structure will allow people to get out of the sun and relax while still at the Park. She added a lot of people who use the spray park will bring lunches and have a picnic and this offers another area for them.

The picnic structure is located to the north of the spray park.
