The City of Morden has caused a delay in the approval of the R.M of Stanley's Corridor Plan.

Prior to the hearing Thursday, Morden City Manager John Scarce presented Stanley officials with a letter objecting the plan before leaving. He clarified the objection later by explaining he needed more time to review the plan.

"The main thing is I've been away for a bit over a month and I didn't have the time to properly recommend to city council the ins and outs of that plan."

However, the delay came as a surprise to both the City of Winkler and R.M of Stanley.

"As far as we were led to believe there were no other objections," Winkler Mayor Martin Harder said.

Previously, both Winkler and Morden had cited issues with the original plan presented by the R.M, but in working together Harder said those issues had since been resolved.

"This has just delayed the process a little bit," said Stanley Reeve Morris Olafson.

The R.M has been working on the plan for over a year.
