The City of Morden has been chosen to be a part of a massive Canada-wide project.

Canada 150 Mosaic has tasked three artists and communities across Canada to create a mural showcasing the history of the nation.

The project will feature 80,000 paintings and 150 separate murals. If combined the murals would stretch over 365 meters.

Morden's mural will be the city's chance to show the community's history and involvement in the nation.

"I'm quite excited about it. It's going to be a neat way to tie Morden into the history of the nation, it's a once in a lifetime kind of project," Clare Agnew Director of Community Services for the City of Morden says.

Local residents will be able to create part of the mural in Morden during a three-day workshop in November.

Agnew says over the three days the artists get to hear the stories and experiences of the community they're working with.

Sign up for the project begins in September.
