Mooney added that the committee is pleased with how it all turned out, noting a new approach was taken by having several two-hour events as opposed to many within one day,

"You never know how things are going to work out and you just try things, she said." And added, "It seems that it

Mooney also thanked the very enthusiastic and committed volunteers that met over the past several months to make the event a success.

Meantime, Mooney said she's hearing a lot of positive and encouraging feedback from participants.

"The awareness that people feel, to lessen the fear of difference and change that's happening in our communities with the growing diversity of cultures."

She added that the month-long festival was also educational, noting she was surprised to learn that, to date, there are 29 different cultures represented in the area.

"And of course when you learn a lot, there ends up being better understanding."

Overall, Mooney said the event was lots of fun and resulted in many new friendships.
