The province is helping to pay for a handful of road improvement projects in Pembina Valley and Red River Valley. 188 projects in 99 municipalities across Manitoba were approved for money through the Municipal Road Improvement Program.

Topping the list is the City of Winkler with $400,000 for Clover Creek and Public Lane Road construction, as well as the rehabilitation of Muirham Ave Road.

Coming in with $225,000 is the Municipality of Rhineland which is speerheading street repairs in Gretna, Plum Coulee and Rosenfeld and continues with the gravelling of priority grain roads.

Also getting $225,000 is the R.M. of Stanley for an asphalt overlay project and Phase 3 of the Reinfeld Village paving project.
    
Five communities will each see $100,000 in funding:

- The Municipality of Emerson-Franklin will use the money to rehabilitate a major truck route in the area and for road renewal paving.

- The R.M. of Morris will update gravel roads throughout the area.

- The R.M. of Dufferin plans to use the money to pay for a number of road rehabilitation projects.

- The Town of Altona will replace concrete on Ash Street and Second Street NW.

- The Town of Carman will use the money to help offset the cost of a major upgrade and reconstruction of Main Street (Highway 13).

Walking away with $60,000 is the Municipality of Montcalm for its First Street paving project in Letellier.
    
The Municipality of Louise will see just over $54,000 for L.U.D. road resurfacing in Pilot Mound and Crystal City.

The Town of Morris is getting $20,000 extend Mary Street South.

The Municipal Road Improvement Program was developed in partnership with the AMM and provides 50/50 cost-shared funding for municipal road projects.
