On Thursday, President of the Rhineland Car Company Jim Dick was happy to present a $3,700 check to Morris School.

This is the 5th time Rhineland Car and Morris School have teamed up to raise money for library and classroom books through the Drive One 4UR School program.

The event was held on June 3, and community members test drove Ford vehicles in exchange for $20, which was donated by Ford. This year there were 203 test drives and 185 registered drivers, for a total of $3,700 for the Morris School library.

Dianne Dekezel, Morris School librarian, said the donation is very much appreciated and allows for students to get excited about purchasing new books for the school. She noted that the school takes a special trip to Winnipeg for the occasion.

"In October, our plans are to take a cross-section of all ages of the students and take a bus trip to McNally Robinson's head book store in Winnipeg at Grant Park, and the students will have that day to choose books, and what they do is they meet with their classes and their peers and they come with lists on books that the kids have asked to look for and we do huge book buying that day," said Dekezel. "It's like Christmas," she added.
