Winkler's aches and pains will be getting some relief as Morden Physiotherapy extends its reach.

Morden Physiotherapy has dedicated itself to providing a comfortable, relaxed, patient-based rehabilitation experience, through helping patients with products, services, or simply guidance and patient advocacy throughout a patients injury; and now they bring that customer service to Winkler.

Offering services in Winkler felt like a natural progression says, Certified Athletic Therapist Tim Shantz.

"We do already have a lot of patients who come from Winkler, Altona, and a lot of people who doctor in Winkler as well. We feel we provide a great service and it felt like the natural growth. We have families of employees that come from there, and it will be a great place to call home as well."

The decision also came from the services that are needed in Winkler says, Physiotherapist Ashley Froese.

Bracing services, women's health, vestibular services these are all things people have been wanting, without having to drive long distances, take off work, or get a sitter.

Another example of Morden Physiotherapy extending their reach was when they opened a new location in Carman a few years ago.

Winkler Physiotherapy will be a sister clinic, owned and operated by local people, and will offer the full suite of services the other locations provide while being its own and unique variation Froese says.

"We can honestly say there won't be a clinic in Southern Manitoba that's like this. We've taken a lot of time and thought into the layout, the planning, the services; it will be something very unique to the area."

The announcement of the Agassiz Medical Centre expansion, it has become apparent of the need for health care in the region Shantz says.

With the population in the area exploding, Shantz says Morden Physiotherapy is an adjunct to those larger doctoring populations there will be a need for physiotherapy and allied health services in the future.

Winkler Physiotherapy is planned to open its doors in January of the new year.
