"Pay It Forward May" set their sights on mother's yesterday by handing out flowers to mom's in Winkler.

Flowers donated by local florists were given to mom's and expecting mom's to brighten their day.

"It's a very small thing, but it's something that every woman appreciates," said Tash Olfert, board member with the Winkle Community Foundation.

"It's just a small gesture to thank them for a sometimes thankless job."

Olfert said the women she spoke to were quite surprised and grateful to be receiving something just because.

"I'm hoping that whoever gets these feels appreciated," Olfert said.

Being a mom never stops, according to Olfert, who is a mother of two herself. She also feels it's the most rewarding role that she's ever had.

All the flowers Olfert handed out were donated from local florists.
