Drivers who travel along Highway 14 near Plum Coulee on a regular basis may be happy to hear new lanes are expected to be ready by the end of September, says Kelvin Shuvera of Manitoba Infrastructure and Transportation.

Construction is anticipated to resume Monday, July 17, said Shuvera. He said the public can expect some delays, the attendance of flag workers and pilot vehicles.

In this phase of construction, Shuvera said they will be surfacing the new roadway and will take care of the rehab work on the distressed pavement on the east side.

Once the new lanes open the remainder of the old highway will be taken and disposed of in a nearby borrow pit.

Shuvera agrees it is important for drivers to remember to slow down and be alert while travelling through construction zones.
