Phase three of the Gretna School's naturalized playground is scheduled to take place Sept. 29 and 30, says project committee chairperson Amanda Braun.

The final step will be to remove an old structure sitting on the lot which was deemed unsafe by the division, and the committee will replace it with a rope web. Additionally, the committee plans to set up exercise equipment as part of the second phase's walking path installment.

After completion, the committee will partner with Ford to host a Drive 4UR fundraiser in hopes of raising $6,000, which will cover the final stretch of the project's budget. Braun said they need at least 300 people to participate in the fundraiser to reach their goal.

Braun added that in the future, the committee will focus on raising money for maintenance purposes and to take care of the new playground.
