Dozens of volunteers rolled up their sleeves for the Winkler Horticultural Society's annual planting blitz.

"We could not have done it without all their help," Horticulture Society member Carol Neufeld explains.

In just 12 hours, from 6:30 a.m to 6:30 p.m, the society and volunteers had planted the entire city.

"They love the teamwork on these days, they love working together," Neufeld says.

Winkler Horticultural Society members say they often hear positive comments throughout the summer from residents and visitors

Their efforts are always noticed, she says.

"People tell me how beautiful Winkler is and how much they like visiting," Neufeld notes. "We're happy about that."

The work of the society blends her two passions, Neufeld explains, a love for flowers and a love of Winkler.

"It's a great place to live," she says.
