The Pembina Valley Humane Society (PVHS) is working on a new project, which public relations chair Megan Rogers stated is expected to take between six and eight weeks to complete.

"All of the dog kennels are currently being torn apart and we are going to be replacing them with a seamless design," said Rogers. "These will be a lot more sanitary for the dogs and it's also going to be a lot easier for our volunteers to clean."

This year the PVHS building is 10-years-old and the kennels were in need of renovations due to the wear and tear from dogs over the years.

Rogers noted during the construction period all of the dogs have to be fostered out to families, which they've been able to do so. She went on to say, if you would like to adopt a dog at this time you can still do so by contacting PVHS. She added the cats are still at the Humane Society and are also looking for a home.
