The reeve for the R.M. of Morris is optimistically looking to the year ahead.

First, Ralph Groening says the municipality's gravel roads will be addressed this year, explaining that a wet fall in 2019 led officials to work with local stakeholders in identifying where the roads are failing.

"We're going to bring back the equivalent of a grain roads program, and focus particularly on Riverside Road so that we can have infrastructure that allows for our farmers and our business community to move their products in an effective way," said Groening.

In addition, the municipality will continue to develop an asset management plan in 2020 in order to properly service infrastructure in to the future.

Meantime, Groening is hopeful that a pair of applications will be approved this year under phase 2 of the Investing in Canada program.

He explains that development over the years has led to the need for an expanded water reservoir in the municipality, as well as a bigger lagoon for the community of Rosenort.
