The Reeve for the R.M. of Stanley feels a Conservative majority win in Tuesday's provincial election gives a sense of continuity.

Morris Olafson says it could also mean good news for projects left on the back burner.

"Before, they were being a little on the tight side, but rightfully so. But I'm expecting things to maybe loosen up slightly so that some of the projects which are on the books will get moved up along the way."

Olafson says the number one project on his list is the regional wastewater project, which he's hoping will soon go to the Manitoba Treasury Board and then on to the federal Treasury Board.

Meanwhile, Olafson says he's looking forward to working with newly elected Borderland MLA, Josh Guenter. "The R.M. is basically is in his ward. Cameron's (Friesen - Morden-Winkler MLA) is the two cities and the little corridor in between."

Olafson says they would deal with Friesen on major infrastructure projects throughout the corridor, but Guenter would be their go-to guy for other things, like highway projects. "I look forward to that, I'll have a chat with him (Guenter) pretty soon to see where he's at.
