One man is in custody after a stabbing in Roland over the weekend.

Carman RCMP responded to a report of an injured female at a residence in Roland just after midnight on Saturday, April 6. Officers arrived and located a 39-year-old-female with a stab wound. She was rushed to Boundary Trails Health Centre and transferred to Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg in unstable condition.

A 42-year-old male, known to police and who also lives in the residence, was arrested and charged with aggravated assault and breaching court-ordered conditions. He has been remanded into custody in Winnipeg.

The 39-year-old female remains in hospital in stable condition.

RCMP continue to investigate.
