The Red River is cresting in Fargo, North Dakota today with very few issues.

The river hit a crest mark of 35 feet this morning, which is about 6 feet below the 2009 level and is expected to crest in Grand Forks on Friday or Saturday at about 48 feet

The National Weather Service says there is a winter storm moving into the Upper Midwest later this week, but it shouldn't add a lot more moisture to the valley.

The Red is expected to crest at Pembina later next week before moving into Manitoba.

The Manitoba provincial flood forecast centre expects the crest at Emerson will hit levels at or slightly below 2009.
